President’s Report…..by Alex Van Der Kamp Christmas has come and gone now without the slightest glimmer of ride able snow in the area. Even for that fact the whole Snowbelt is experiencing a snow “drought” this year. But as many people were hoping to get the first trip of the season in around new years, which now looks grim, do we look at this as a bad season? Maybe we grown accustom over the last few years to above average snow falls, or are we getting too anxious to be able to go on our trips? After all it’s not even January yet, then there’s still February and the ever questionable March. Girls state basketball week has been know for big snow storms. Some of the best trips can come late in the season when we’ve exhausted our desire to go ride and would rather look to-wards putting the sled away. But years like this are not all so bad. With the ISSA and IDNR having troubles purchasing new groomers, fixing old ones, or even just having problems covering maintenance costs a year like this will help them catch back up even if just a little. A year like this is a good time to make sure everything on your own sled is in good working order. Maybe there’s something you’ve been putting off fixing for sometime. Well now is a good time to go out to the garage grab a cold frosty beverage and check everything over. Then start praying that it will snow! Think Snow! Alex Van Der Kamp |
